District 74 class - 1948



This picture, taken in 1948-49, is the "little room" class from District No. 74, which is east of Grand Island and is now known as Seedling Mile Elementary School. The "little room" includes students in grades one through four, and the "big room" consisted of children in grades five through eight.

In the back row (from left) are Benny Hessel, Richard Robinson, Bernadine Laub, Carol Sue Baasch, Gary Beck, Billy Hight, Bonny Yost, Karen Boyd, and Gordon Elvers; in the front row are ROnald Laub, Rojean Robinson, Janice Elstermeier, Venice Brown, Deane Schweiger, Judy (last name unknown), Patty Woodward, Warren Stoppkotte, Barbara Blair, and Herby Mettenbrink. The teacher is Miss Marilyn Schacht.
